SeCloud gives companies GDPR-compliant, real-time control of their IT assets through end-of-life. We built its cross-platform desktop agent, installer and delivery process.

SeCloud is Cloud-based software that gives clients full real-time asset control from a GDPR perspective, both in operations and in end-of-lease/end-of-life. The startup manages the complete control of your End of Life data erasure process, so you can trust that your data is removed completely. By using SeCloud’s services, users facilitate the re-use of the fleet. Either by re-using certified erased computers internally, or by using the buy-out function to sell it to the customer that provides the best offer.

By using SeCloud, companies gain control of their assets. It provides Geofence technology that can be applied to secure the use of the computers, get a hold on whom has which computer, and keep track of the erasure history. SeCloud also provides easy access to the asset specification.

SeCloud was looking for a long-term partner who could solve a wide range of complex problems on various platforms. Their first request was for a special Desktop agent application for Windows, which gathers all the network, hardware, and GPS location information and updates the API on demand.

Research first, then a clean, tested build.

The team, which consisted of the tech lead and senior developers, had to invest enough time in research in order to discover and apply the most optimal solutions.

After the initial research was completed, we used Procrun to build the service for Windows and JSVC for Unix-based systems (macOS, Linux). The user installer was built with Inno Setup, with custom pages written in Pascal.

Delivered every sprint, with more than 90% accuracy.

For the project management part, we used GitHub Projects, where the CTO of SeCloud could track each Sprint's progress in real-time. We had a Sprint retrospective and planning meetings every Friday, prioritizing the User Stories for the next week.

We are glad that we managed to quickly build an efficient team that can deliver with high quality on time. The Agile process we follow contributes to a productive collaboration with our clients, ensuring good visibility and full transparency of the work process.
